PROTOTYPE VLR VISITS COVENTRY:

Coventry City Council’s prototype Very Light Rail vehicle, developed by WMG/University of Warwick and with TDi Ltd, was shown off in the city centre on March 23 (right) ahead of moving to the dedicated BCIMO (Black Country Innovative Manufacturing Organisation) test track and research centre under construction in Dudley (pictured above on March 23). The electric powered, zero-emission, lightweight rail vehicle will begin testing later this year with a view to entering service from 2024.
