KIRKBY CRASH

A RAIL Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) investigation is taking place after the 2K48/18.35 Liverpool Central-Kirkby, formed of Nos. 507006/21, ran into the buffers and derailed at Kirkby on March 13. The leading car (BDMSO No. 64372 from No. 507006) suffered considerable damage and the set is unlikely to see further service. This set was recovered by No. 37800 on March 18 and hauled to Kirkdale at slow speed, while
