OLD DALBY DEAL

GB Railfreight has won a four-year contract from Network Rail to operate the Rail Innovation & Development Centre (RIDC) at Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. RIDC Melton (known more commonly as Old Dalby) is a dedicated test facility used for validating and commissioning new and modified rolling stock, plant, on track machines, infrastructure, equipment and technology away from the constraints of the mainline network. It includes a 13 mile high-speed test track and a slower-speed four mile test track.
