‘Whistler’ duo for LSL tours

THE hire of the Class 40 Preservati­on Society’s No. 40145 to Locomotive Services Ltd, which was due to expire at the end of February, has been extended for a further 12 months.

During this period, as part of the hire agreement, the ‘Whistler’ will undergo bodywork repairs, followed by a repaint into green livery.

Meanwhile, after the installati­on of its new power unit, No. D213 (40013) Andania successful­ly underwent load bank testing at Barrow Hill during March. It is expected to return to Crewe to resume its duties with Locomotive Services Ltd shortly.
