‘RAT’ BACK IN BLUE

THE East Lancashire Railway has completed the repainting of Mark Fowler’s Class 25 No. D7629 into BR blue as No. 25279, the first time it has carried this livery since the late 1980s. Subject to the event being able to take place, the Sulzer Type 2 should be one of the star attractions at the ELR’s diesel gala in July.

‘GRID’ BACK IN ACTION

STOPPED in March 2019, primarily for a bogie swap that was undertaken in September 2020, No. 56301 returned to service on March 19 when it left Leicester on a run to York.

Unfortunately, a load regulator issue saw the test run curtailed at Aldwarke (near Rotherham). The Class 56 Group is hopeful that the fault can be easily rectified.
