SHANNON CROSSING:

071 Class No. 081 crosses the River Shannon at Athlone on March 1 with a loaded timber from Westport to Waterford. Just visible at the tail end of the train is the former Midland Great Western Railway station, which closed in 1983 after all passenger services were moved to the former Great Southern and Western Railway station.
