Class 91s out of storage

FOLLOWING its test runs at the end of May, No. 91101 became the fourth member of the class to return to passenger operation on June 2 and it was followed by Nos. 91124 and 91130 by the 8th, No. 91119 on the 23rd and No. 91105 on the 24th. This gives LNER eight operationa­l Class 91s along with Nos. 91106, 91110 and 91111.

■ Former LNER and EMR HST power cars Nos. 43307 and 43317 (both still IECP) were moved from their storage location of Barrow Hill on June 15 by No. 66774, the pair being transferre­d to Neville

Hill for decommissi­oning. The duo was removed from traffic in February 2021 after a brief eight-month reprieve on the Midland Main Line.
