NETWORK RAIL

NETWORK Rail has placed No. 08417 (pictured below) up for sale with bids due in mid-July. Recently moved to Peak Rail, the yellow ‘08' is mechanically incomplete: the main power unit requires parts and reassembly, the cranks and coupling rods are missing, as also are the traction motors. All of this is likely to mean a lot of work and expense for any prospective owner.

RAILWAY SUPPORT SERVICES

RAILWAY Support Services moved its

No. 08730 from the Chasewater Railway to Whatley Quarry on June 1. The locomotive still carries the blue livery for the BP Hams Hall contract it was due to move to, which was cancelled at the last moment.

RMS LOCOTECH

ON June 12, RMS's No. 08588 was on the road, heading from Great Yarmouth to

Ilford, where it was to replace No. 08871, which will return to Wolsingham for work. No. 08588's stint at Great Yarmouth was a relatively short one, as it only arrived there from Wolsingham on March 31.

HUNSLET LIMITED

NO. 08624 Rambo was shipped to Trafford Park on June 1, enabling the release of

No. 08530, which was returned to the Barton Under Needwood workshops.

?? Alistair Grieve ?? Clearly unable to move under its own power, No. 08417 sits at Peak Rail on June 12, awaiting a new owner and a considerable amount of attention.
