FRESH FROM THE MOULD: DAPOL ‘O’ CLASS 66
A hint of the forthcoming Dapol ‘O’ gauge Class 66 was offered with a view of the first tests from the moulds. The image shows two versions of the model’s bodyshell moulding which can be seen in the differing cab windows.
Locomotive and operator specific details are being incorporated in the tooling to provide a wide range of different types of Class 66s. They will have certain common features including twin motor drive, a heavy cast metal chassis, comprehensive illumination including cab driving controls and running lights alongside a sprung centre axle in each bogie.
Dapol lists six different locomotives in its catalogue, each of which will be offered in conventional analogue (£325), DCC-onboard
(£355) and with digital sound (£475). Advance orders are being taken with no deposit being required at www.dapol. co.uk.
