IN order to enable its main generator to be replaced with an overhauled example, No. 50033 Glorious had its power unit removed for splitting at Kidderminster on June 12. The same crane was also used to remove the power unit from No. 08635, which is being rebuilt as a hydrogenpowered loco as part of the ‘Harrier HydroShunter' project.

On June 12, the power unit is removed from Class 50 No. 50033 Glorious at Kidderminster on the Severn Valley Railway, in order for its main generator to be replaced with an overhauled example. On the same day, at the same location, the power unit is seen coming out of Class 08 shunter No. 08635, the first stage of its transformation to a hydrogen-powered loco as part of the ‘Harrier HydroShunter' project.
