Dive-under delight
UK RAILTOURS' ‘The York Deviator', currently due to run on October 9, is expected to be one of the first charter trains to use the new dive-under at Werrington, three miles north of Peterborough – this is where the Spalding ‘Joint' line diverges. Tracklaying took place on the two-track section at the end of July.
The southern junction of the dive-under is called Marholm Jn (after a village one mile away), while the northern junction with the existing ‘Joint' line is named Glinton Jn (again named after the village one mile away).
