‘WHISTLER' MADE IT TO BRISTOL

-

IN the September issue (Powerscene) the Class 40 railtour on July 1 handed over to a pair of steam locos at Crewe for the trip to Bristol. That is not right. I was at Bristol Temple Meads that day to photograph the Class 40. The two steam locos were at St Philip's Marsh depot ready to work the railtour back. When the train came in to go to Bangor the two steam locos (45231 and 46100) were at the front and the Class 40 at the back.

Thank you, we always welcome on the ground reporting from readers and a revised entry is included in this month's Powerscene – see page 17. Ed

I WAS recently travelling on the Le Shuttle (Eurotunnel) passenger train to come back to England from France. I have attached a photo which I would love to see in the magazine. I captured the photo on a Blackview A80 of 9831 while being on the platform at Coquelles (Calais) waiting to board the 15.50 shuttle on August 27. The loco was in the adjacent platform, also with a passenger shuttle.
