Northern Christmas spirit – choice of York or Harrogate

-

A choice of York or Harrogate is the option for Pathfinder Tours' ‘The Northern Star' booked to run on Saturday November 20. Haulage will be a DB Cargo Class 67, using Riviera Trains' Eastleigh-based Mk.1 set. Starting at Salisbury, pick-ups are stations to Leamington Spa. While York's attractions are well known, those at Harrogate are perhaps not so familiar but for those not indulging in the dining option (£269), the compiler can thoroughly recommend his home town's Betty's tea room which is renowned throughout Yorkshire and which is patronised by England's football manager, Gareth Southgate, who lives nearby.
