MODELLERS’ SNAPSHOT: AUTUMN IN TEES YARD

-

Autumn colour forms the backdrop to the small wagon repair depot operated by DB Cargo which, on October 27, 2019, was occupied by four locomotives stabled over the weekend (Nos. 66027, 66118 and 66174 are visible). A lovely industrial area microlayout could be based on this scene, backed by a bank of silver birch trees modelled with autumn foliage which belies the industrial nature of the area served by the railway.

The nearest track is an entry line to Tees Yard from the Middlesbrough direction.

There is a hard standing in front of the small workshop building together with the usual paraphernalia associated with modern servicing points: skips, tool stores, safety railing adjacent to an inspection pit, lighting, signage and grass growing on the track. One could add almost any type of wagon to the layout and stage a Railhead Treatment Train on the main signalled track.
