Christmas and New Year running days

Several railways have diesel outings planned over the festive season. As well as the Severn Valley

Railway mentioned last month, the Wensleydale Railway plans to use No. 37250 (December 24) and Class 14 No. D9523 (December 29), while on December 31/January 1, it will be possible to see the new year in at the Great Central Railway and immediately travel behind No. 50017 Royal Oak. A Diesel Day is being held at the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway on December 29, when Nos. 27001, 37403 Isle of Mull, 47643 and a visiting GBRf loco should all be in action. The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway will be using mixed steam and diesel on its ‘mince pie’ specials between December 27 and January 3.
