CLASS 40 REPAIRED FOR FESTIVE SPECIALS

FOLLOWING a failure while working a carol service special on December 10, No. 40106 was repaired in time to carry out its rostered post-Christmas daily duties beginning on December 26. The loco had suffered an AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) fault, which also caused damage to the battery charging resistor. The CFPS has expressed its thanks to the owners of No. D213 Andania in making the spares required available at such short notice.
