NEW WHEELSETS FOR GLOUCESTER ‘100’

LLANGOLLEN Railcars has acquired a set of replacement wheelsets for its Gloucester Class 100 DMBS No. 51118, which is undergoing restoration at the Midland Railway-Butterley. Its previous wheelsets were regarded as life expired. A pair of spare Leyland engines have also been acquired.

During December, Wickham DMBS No. 50416 at Llangollen was reunited with its No. 1 engine, which had been removed earlier in the year to be fitted with a replacement crankshaft.
