HORNBY FACELIFTS THE 4-VEP

In addition to models of the Southern Region General Manager’s Saloon, Southern Electric modellers have the reissue of the face-lifted Class 423 4-VEP to look forward to in 2022 alongside Hornby Skaledale South Eastern buildings. Two liveries from the Privatisation era are added to the catalogue: South West Trains (Stagecoach) and the sole Southern unit to be painted in the green and ivory livery of the franchise that succeeded Connex. We urge Hornby to consider adding a Network SouthEast version to the 2022 catalogue too, to match the new buildings.

Part retooling of the model is being undertaken to tidy up the cab front. The compartments will have new interiors with the partitions and doors properly modelled and other improvements, including a new decoder socket, will be incorporated.
