‘O’ gauge returns to Accurascale

-

LARGE SCALE models are now entering the orbit of Accurascale once again, with a new batch of the ‘O’ gauge BR 24t coal hopper wagon (HUO) being revealed, together with a hint of new

‘O’ gauge additions to the range at the planning stages.

It is not a straightforward reissue of an existing model, but has detail enhancements to allow a wider number of the HOP24 wagons to be modelled, including new buffer types. Care has been taken to replicate original liveries as closely as possible, resulting in eight new models with unique running numbers in this batch. Livery samples are expected in the next couple of months. Priced at £59.95, they demonstrate the point made in the ‘Vanwide’ review (p.52/M12) that ‘O’ gauge rollingstock is particularly good value for money at this time.

Bauxite HUO

Accurascale has located the required information to allow it to offer the sole (as far as records have revealed at this time) BR bauxite liveried HOP24 HUO wagon No. B335028 in ‘OO’ gauge.

The unfitted HOP24 wagons were usually painted in BR freight wagon grey; the bauxite livery being reserved for vacuum braked wagons (but not exclusively).

The model is part of the ‘Accurascale Exclusives’ range, limited to 500 pieces and priced at £24.95.
