NEW HORNBY HST MODELS: FGW DYNAMIC LINES STOCK AND DVT

-

Hornby announced the retooling of its slam-door Mk.3 HST trailers and upgraded Class 43 power cars recently, including the fitting of close coupling cams, 21-pin decoder sockets and additional details. The Midland Pullman HST set was held back to take advantage of this development. The FGW blue ‘dynamic lines’ stock just missed the cut and has been released in the current format. It is widely welcomed, being a particularly popular livery with modellers of the 2000s era. Furthermore, the models have relevance to ScotRail modellers, with displaced FGW blue stock being used in HST Classic sets which formed a stop-gap for ScotRail until early 2020. Enough trailers are issued to form a complete FGW set and are priced at £44.99 each. The plain blue Class 43 power car pack is priced at £362.99.

Also released in recent weeks is the single unpowered Class 43 Driving Van

Trailer No. 43013, as used with Class 91s when new Mk.4 stock remained to be delivered. It has a retail price of

£84.99 and will be a good match for the forthcoming InterCity Class 91 model.
