RNLI Underground 200 by 200 Fundraiser
RAISING funds and to publicise the forthcoming 200th anniversary of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in 2024, Nick Walton and Brad Johnson, both members of the RNLI Skegness crew, took part in a 200-station tube challenge.
Dressed in full all-weather lifeboat kit they travelled across all of the Underground’s 10 lines on February 19, also meeting with the River Thames RNLI crew, based adjacent to Tower Bridge.
While this was never a world record attempt to visit every station across the network, they still managed to reach 204 of the LU’s 272 stations in just over 17 hours – considering the equipment they were wearing, this was no mean feat.
