LIFECOLOR PAINTING GUIDES
The first of a series of detailed painting guides, the first written by Christos Katselos and Martin Hughes (published by Mr Black Publications), shows how to paint some of the trickiest effects in scale modelling in 36 pages (priced at £10.95).
Illustrated with 110 pictures, the techniques for figure painting, including hair and flesh, together with scenic effects such as rust, wood, metals, weathering and decay, are explained in detail. Based around using LifeColour paints, the guide shows the colours and mixing used for the various effects.
While the illustrated models in the guide are not directly related to railway modelling; paint mixing, painting and finishing techniques, particularly for modelling general materials such as wood and metals, cross into all modelling subjects, including railway modelling. www.airbrushes.com
