MODERN NUCLEAR: 2014-BUILT FNA-D WAGON TOOLING COMMENCES

CAD design for ‘N’ and ‘OO’ gauge models of the 40 2014-built FNA-D wagons has been completed by Revolution Trains, and the project will have entered the tooling room by April. The models will be composed of injection moulded plastic with small fittings used for finer details in both etched metal and plastic. Kinematic close coupling cams are also included in the specification.

The FNA-D wagons will sit well with modellers of the DRS scene and their use in short trains will make the wagons attractive for small layout projects too. As the accompanying photograph shows, trains can be relatively short, with the Accurascale PFA wagon having a role to play in ‘OO’ gauge as barrier vehicles. The models will be produced in multiple identities to allow authentic trains to be marshalled. The order book is due to open soon and delivery is anticipated for early 2023.
