MORE HST COACHES SAVED

THE Great Central Railway has acquired TRFB No. 40704, which was delivered to Quorn from Ely Papworth on March 7. At present carrying LNER colours, it is due to see static use at Leicester North.

CHURNET VALLEY ARRIVALS

DURING March, Mk.1 SK No. 25607 was moved from the Foxfield Railway to the Churnet Valley Railway for contract repairs. Another recent arrival is that of Mk.1 RU No. 1929, which spent more than 40 years as a grounded body at Carnforth (initially when the site was known as Steamtown Railway Centre). It has since gained a set of bogies.

MK.1 RETURNS TO NYMR

REBUILT by Rampart as a ‘fuss-free coach’ providing access for the mobility impaired, Mk.1 TSO No. 3805 returned from Barrow Hill to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway on March 11.
