BACHMANN ENGINEERING PROTOTYPES REVEALED

-

The first engineering prototypes of two exciting projects in development by Bachmann were revealed at the London Festival of Railway Modelling.

The completely redeveloped

Class 158 for the Graham Farish ‘N’ gauge range is seen for the first time and appears to have a low profile mechanism allowing the interior to be detailed to a high standard.

The underframe is fitted with detail showing a higher degree of relief than seen on the current model and considerably more accurate detail applied to the bogies.

In ‘OO’ gauge, the brand-new Class 25/1 and Class 25/2 models have reached the prototype stage and appear to be detailed to the nines in the same manner as the brand-new Class 24 model. High levels of refinement are apparent in the underframes and bogies. Metal grilles are used to enhance the bodyshells along the shoulders and at the radiator end of the locomotives. Detailing of the fuel tank area and the locomotive cabs is more bespoke to specific locomotives than before.
