TWO Class 03s were on the move in mid-May, with the departure of No. D2069 (03069) from the Dean Forest Railway on the 19th. The BR green-liveried machine duly arrived at the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway for a stint on hire. Rather less well-travelled, BR blue No. 03078 is to spend the next six months at the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway as reserve traction, arriving from the North Tyneside Railway on May 17. Its first passenger use came just five days later.
