‘Whistler’ to remain at SVR?

NEGOTIATIONS are taking place between the Class 40 Preservation Society and the Severn Valley Railway regarding the possibility of No. 40106 Atlantic Conveyor remaining on the line for up to three years. The ‘Whistler’, which – with its steam heat capability – proved invaluable to the SVR earlier in the year, had been due to return to the East Lancashire Railway.

Valley Railway, ‘Peak’ No. 46045, is expected to have its steam heat boiler reactivated in time for the winter season.
