WCRC VACUUM BRAKED MK.2s MOVE NORTH

FOLLOWING the cessation of its work with Steam Dreams, WCRC’s Southallbased vacuum braked Mk.2 set (made up of Nos. 5171, 5200/16/36/37/49, 9104 and 13440) was taken north to Carnforth by No. 47746 on June 22. Several vehicles have since been integrated into the main Carnforth fleet – for example, Nos. 5171 and 5236 were included in the consist of the ‘Pendle Dalesman’, hauled by Nos. 37676 and 37706, on July 12. Another of the coaches, No. 5237, was sent to Fort William on July 27 for use on ‘Jacobite’ services.
