KERR STUART INDUSTRIAL FOR MIDDLETON?

SUBJECT to inspection and final availability, the Middleton Railway hopes to have

Kerr Stuart No. 4421 Rom River from the Foxfield Railway as a visitor for its ‘90 years of the diesel’ event. This loco was the first purpose-built standard gauge diesel to be built in the UK, initially used on the standard gauge section of the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway which ran to a stone crushing plant at Murthwaite. In the event of it not being available, it is hoped that Hunslet-built Class 05 No. D2595 from the Ribble Steam Railway will be able to attend.

ELR ‘24’ TO VISIT GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY

FOLLOWING a visit to the Spa Valley Railway for its diesel gala and 25th anniversary event, East Lancashire Railway based Class 24 No. D5054 (24054) is to appear at the Great Central Railway’s gala on September 2-4 and is also likely to appear at its beer festival the following weekend.

■ A Rail Operations Group Class 37 is scheduled to attend the Dean Forest Railway’s gala on September 17/18.
