WI-FI NETWORK PLANS EXPAND ACROSS LU
CUSTOMERS of four major network suppliers are due to have access to the 4G and 5G mobile services that are currently being installed across London Underground (LU). This follows the award of a 20-year contract to install and maintain mobile device infrastructure across LU to BAI Communications UK in June 2021.
Hub stations, including Oxford
Circus, Tottenham Court Road and Camden Town, are due to have mobile services launched before the end of 2022. Additional sections of the LU network are expected to provide customers with wi-fi access during the summer of 2023. This will mean that customers will have connectivity in both stations and tunnels along the Central Line.
