INDUSTRIALS

-

■ FRESH from modifications at Millenium Site Services, Derby, Sellafield-owned Clayton CBD80 No. 4659/1 has followed its sister loco in visiting Peak Rail for testing. Delivered to Rowsley on August 15, it was noted undergoing trials later that week.

■ LITTLE time was wasted by HNRC in completing the final stripping of Andrew Barclay 0-6-0DH No. 613 at Barrow Hill, the 1977-built shunter having only arrived from storage at Hope Cement Works on July 13. On August 2, it was back on a low-loader and on its way to EMR’s yard at Attercliffe, Sheffield, for scrapping.

■ THE number of industrials stored at Cockshute Yard, Stoke, and visible from passing trains, has been reduced to three, following the removal of Tarmac-liveried Hunslet No. 9383 of 2012 (originally Thomas Hill No. 290V of 1980). By the end of July, this had been returned to Reid Freight Services’ main yard at nearby Cinderhill.

■ THE first Ministry of Defence shunter to visit the Bartonunder-Needwood workshops of Hunslet in over three years was on site by early August. TOPS-registered as No. 01528, Thomas Hill ‘Vanguard’

No. 309V of 1984 was brought in from Kineton.
