Opening gambit for Riviera Trains a/c coaches

RIVIERA Trains is still progressing the concept of fitting windows into its airconditioned stock. The news this month is that the company has ditched the idea of hopper windows and, instead, prefers fitting sliding windows.

These will be of shallow depth to prevent heads protruding, but at least the sound of the traction will be able to be heard and appreciated – one of the fundamental reasons for booking on classic tours.
