GOOD PROGRESS ON HELJAN’S CURRENT ‘OO’ GAUGE PROJECTS

HELJAN has been busy researching liveries for some of its forthcoming models including the BR/NBL 10800 locomotive which will appear in several variations of BR black and one in BR green. Factory decorated samples are due in the autumn, with completed models due in late 2022 at the earliest.

The ‘OO’ gauge Class 02 has reached the livery approval stage.

The batch of six models will include BR liveries with various numbers and coloured bufferbeams together with industrial versions.

One notable industrial is the Redland Class 02 shunter which is likely to be one of the more popular models. Prices start at £149 with the delivery schedule still to be announced.

Liveries for the forthcoming batch of 11 ‘Cromptons’ in ‘OO’ gauge, namely the revised Class 33/2 ‘Slim Jims’, have been finalised. BR green through to BR blue and Sectorisation are matched to the appropriate bodyshells for accuracy, with roof detail variations and headlights taken into account. www.heljan.co.uk

↑ No fewer than 11 ‘OO’ gauge ‘Slim Jim’ Class 33/2s are in the pipeline from Heljan, due for release in 2023.

Stepping up a gauge: the new ‘O’ gauge Class 45s have reached the pre-production prototype stage. The photograph shows the much-requested ‘sealed beam’ marker light version which is one of a batch of eight models which will cover Class 45/0 with steam heating features through to the ETH-fitted Class 45/1 locomotives.

← The liveries for the forthcoming ‘OO’ gauge Class 02 have been approved. Five general release models plus a special edition for Gaugemaster are included in the first batch.
