More MRA body replacements

-

LORAM has continued to cycle former NR MRA side tippers through its Derby site for body replacement, with No. 37418 performing the bulk of the moves unaided.

Arrivals during the period under review were as follows: On August 30, the privately owned Class 37/4 had Nos. 501050, 501110, 50126870 for company on a 6Z39 13.54 from Doncaster Wood Yard. Two weeks later, on September 15, Nos. 501052, 501112, 501274-6 formed the load for the same locomotive working a 6Z37 13.53 from Doncaster Up Decoy.

On October 7 it was the turn of Nos. 501041, 501101, 501241-3, which ran to the former Railway Technical Centre site as a 6Z37 12.50 from Decoy Yard. Finally, on the 24th, No. 37418 was tucked in behind No. 37901 for a 6Z37 12.55 ex-Decoy with Nos. 501011, 501071, 501151-3. Once completed they are being moved to York Holgate Works by road.

A further transfer of MRAs took place on October 11, with

No. 37418 again charged with the move. Interestingly, the 6Z37 10.23 from Toton North Yard, comprised of NR yellow wagons Nos. 501305, 501325, 501353-5, did not head to Derby, but to WH Davis at Langwith Junction.
