New kid on the charter block
NEXT year is likely to see more use of a new charter set made up of eight former Greater Anglialiveried Mk.3s currently stabled at Gascoigne Wood sidings on the Selby-Leeds route. Owned by Third Life Rail, the carriages carry branding which states ‘The Real Charter Train Company’.
They were used on the
October 22 BLS tour emanating from Derby to the north east and powered by Hanson & Hall ‘Hoover’ 50008 Thunderer.
Indeed, Companies House shows one of the directors of
Third Life Rail is also a director of the Hanson & Hall business. The Mk.3s offer an excellent standard, having been refurbished by Greater Anglia a few years back. (See also Coaches, p34).
