Failure to follow floods procedure

The scour event at Lamington Viaduct that closed the West Coast Main Line for several weeks at the start of the year revealed that although Scotland has a Flood Event process, it was no longer followed, the Office of Rail and Road said.

This meant within the route there was widespread failure to apply expected precautions. This is being reviewed, the ORR said.
