Chiltern to trial digital service

Arriva UK Trains is partnering with Enable ID for trials of a new digital service on Chiltern Railways’ London to Birmingham trains.

Trains will be equipped with sensors to provide information about available seats, carriage temperature, onboard catering and real-time train running. It is due to launch next year, and will be part of the MyJrny platform, which links transport operators with customers via mobile applications.

The project is match funded by the Rail Safety and Standards Board’s TOC ’15 competition.
