One market that is growing for GB Railfreight is automotive.

Managing Director John Smith announced on July 5 that the company had just operated the first car train for six years through the Channel Tunnel, running from Swindon to Ghent.

This was the first of ten trains in a deal signed earlier this year, and Smith is hopeful it can be extended.

“The car market is growing. Cars are an opportunity,” he said.
