Glas­gow: Re­dun­dant build­ings in front of Glas­gow Queen Street, in­clud­ing Con­sort House, are be­ing de­mol­ished to make way for the new- look sta­tion. The old ticket of­fice and ac­com­mo­da­tion block have al­ready been re­moved to en­able the ex­ten­sion of Plat­form 1.

Leven­mouth: Fife Coun­cil has been urged to em­ploy a full-time project of­fi­cer, to speed up progress on re­in­state­ment of the five- mile rail link from Thorn­ton. The in­ten­tion is to em­u­late the suc­cess of the Bor­ders Rail­way, whose re­open­ing was boosted by a ded­i­cated ex­pert.

Liv­ingston: The ten- day clo­sure of the Ed­in­burgh Waver­ley- Glas­gow Cen­tral line from March 29- April 9 will al­low ex­ten­sive re­build­ing to take place at Liv­ingston South sta­tion. As well as plat­form works, two lifts and new stair­cases are to be in­stalled.
