Glasgow: Redundant buildings in front of Glasgow Queen Street, including Consort House, are being demolished to make way for the new- look station. The old ticket office and accommodation block have already been removed to enable the extension of Platform 1.
Levenmouth: Fife Council has been urged to employ a full-time project officer, to speed up progress on reinstatement of the five- mile rail link from Thornton. The intention is to emulate the success of the Borders Railway, whose reopening was boosted by a dedicated expert.
Livingston: The ten- day closure of the Edinburgh Waverley- Glasgow Central line from March 29- April 9 will allow extensive rebuilding to take place at Livingston South station. As well as platform works, two lifts and new staircases are to be installed.
