Rail (UK) - - The Big Interview -

David Wa­boso joined Net­work Rail in June 2016, and is an en­gi­neer and project man­ager who has worked for en­gi­neer­ing and con­sul­tancy firms on in­fra­struc­ture pro­grammes.

He led the up­grade of the Dock­lands Light Rail­way and the com­ple­tion of the trains and sig­nalling sys­tem for the Ju­bilee Line Ex­ten­sion. He worked on Thames­link and train safety pro­grammes, led cross-in­dus­try pro­grammes on ERTMS at the Strate­gic Rail Au­thor­ity, and from 2005-16 he was the en­gi­neer­ing di­rec­tor (then cap­i­tal pro­grammes di­rec­tor) at Lon­don Un­der­ground, lead­ing a £10 bil­lion up­grade pro­gramme.

Wa­boso is a char­tered en­gi­neer and a fel­low of the Royal Academy of En­gi­neer­ing, the In­sti­tu­tion of Civil En­gi­neers, the In­sti­tu­tion of Rail­way Sig­nal En­gi­neers and the As­so­ci­a­tion for Project Man­age­ment. He was made a CBE for ser­vices to trans­port in Lon­don.
