Network Rail has started overnight works to extend Platforms 3 and 4 at Bradford Interchange, ahead of the introduction of Northern’s new trains.

The extensions are taking place overnight to minimise disruption, and form part of NR’s multibillion-pound Great North Rail scheme to improve connectivity.

Rob McIntosh, NR’s London North Eastern and East Midlands Route Managing Director, said: “The platform extensions will be able to accommodate newer and longer trains which will call at the station, and will ensure we can continue to provide a railway which meets the needs of the communities and economies we serve.”
