Metrolink moves to zonal fares

Manchester Metrolink will move to a zonal fares structure from January 13, in a bid to simplify fares and encourage more passengers to use the system.

There will be four zones under the new system, cutting the number of fares from what Transport for Greater Manchester describes as “thousands” to ten.
