RAIB probes 120mph overspeed

Rail accident investigators from RAIB are looking at an incident at Sandy on October 19 where a London North Eastern Railway express passed a 20mph emergency speed restriction at 120mph.

The restriction applied to a cracked crossing and had marker boards and AWS magnets in place. RAIB said it would look at the way drivers are told of such restrictions.
