Paisley footbridge to be replaced
Network Rail is to replace a lifeexpired footbridge in Paisley.
Work begins on the £1.2 million structure on December 10. It involves piling and creating new foundations, as well as removal of the old bridge and installation of the new prefabricated structure.
Construction will take place in a combination of day and night shifts, but not between Christmas and the New Year. Buses will replace trains in the area on Saturdays and Sundays throughout January.
The bridge is due to be completed by March 2019. The existing Arkleston footbridge will be closed from December 14, with pedestrians diverted via Arkleston Road to the east of the site.
