NR hedge plan at Hadley Wood

Hadley Wood’s railway boundary will be a test site for Network Rail’s plans to plant hedges, after the company decided to work with residents following complaints about its felling of trees.

NR said hedges could be up to three metres high and provide a habitat for wildlife. Hadley Wood’s two trial hedges will be 180 metres long, two metres wide, and be divided into three sections to test different ways of creating hedgerow.
