The latest set of TransPennine Express Mk 5A coaches was delivered to Longsight depot on November 15.

The five coaches were built by CAF in Spain, and shipped to Portbury Docks, from where they were taken north. The coaches moved were Trailer First (TF) 11509, Trailer Standards (TS) 12725-727 and Driving Trailer Standard (DTS) 12809). These form set TP09.

This takes the number of sets based at Manchester to seven (sets TP01-TP06/09), while TP07 remains at the Bristol port. There are 13 sets on order, plus a spare DTS, although the planned entry into traffic this December has been delayed owing to a brake problem. TPE hopes to have the trains in traffic by next spring ( RAIL 866).

Rail Operations Group 57305 hauled the stock to Longsight.
