New TPE Mk 5As stored at Crewe

TransPennine Express Mk 5As are being stored at Crewe South Yard by Rail Operations Group, ahead of their entry into traffic.

The stock has been based at Longsight depot, although there are space constraints owing to the number delivered to the UK (40 out of 66 coaches ordered), and the fact that their entry into service has been delayed from December until next spring ( RAIL 866).

So far, 35 of the 40 in the UK have been moved to the North West for commissioning, testing and mileage accumulation.

With that work ongoing, TPE 68022 Resolution took Trailer First (TF) 11502, Trailer Standard (TS) 12704-706 and Driver Trailer Standard (DTS) 12802 to Crewe on November 15.
