Class 321/4 taken north for overhaul

Rail (UK) - - News -

Off-lease 321418 left Ilford for Wabtec Rail’s Kilmarnock works on November 16, hauled by Rail Operations Group 37884.

The Class 321/4 was latterly used by Greater Anglia, but has been sent off-lease ahead of a move to ScotRail, where it will be reinstated as a Class 320/4 following modifications and overhaul.

The work will include fitting it with the same accessible interior as the other Class 320s in traffic with ScotRail, but it will have its Trailer Standard Open (TSO) 71968 removed and scrapped.

It follows 321401-404, which moved north for similar work.
