Ely: The new £49 million bypass road over the railway and River Ouse has opened. It will eliminate the level crossing at the station and the dangerously low underbridge.
Ely: The Railway Heritage Trust has contributed a sixth of the £ 58,000 cost of renovating Ely station frontage. The walls had been badly patched over the
years, and the old steelwork and render has been replaced.
Saxmundham: The future of the Suffolk station building has been assured, despite it suffering extensive fire damage earlier this year. However, the demolished top storey will not be replaced. The Community Rail Partnership has been told that work will start in the spring to create a new waiting room and repair the canopy. Northumberland Park: Network Rail has opened its new footbridge with lifts over the West Anglia Main Line, to make access to the station and its island platforms step-free. It replaces the level crossing closed in July 2017.
