Linking Devon and Cornwall across the River Tamar, the iconic Royal Albert Bridge is a feat of engineering that is testament to the vision of Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Opened in 1859 by Prince Albert, the bowstring suspension bridge has carried Great Western steam locomotives, Intercity 125 High Speed Trains, and now the next generation of Intercity Express Trains (IETs). On June 22 2017, 800003 Queen

Victoria/Queen Elizabeth II and

800004 Isambard Kingdom Brunel/ Sir Daniel Gooch became the first IETs to journey into Devon and Cornwall in a ten-car formation, as part of the testing programme.

The train was photographed crossing the Royal Albert Bridge, and that picture has now been turned into a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle that we’re offering as part of a special Christmas family gift package.
